Biography

Attorney Phillip Ensler was elected in November 2022 to represent District 74 in the Alabama House of Representatives. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama. He previously worked as the Senior Policy Advisor at the City of Montgomery. Prior to that, he was Policy Counsel at Alabama Appleseed Center for Law and Justice.

As an undergraduate student at George Washington University in D.C., Phillip served in the Obama Administration. After that, he was a Teach for America corps member where he taught social studies at the former Lee High School in Montgomery. While teaching in 2012 he started a mentorship program to help local public school students achieve their college and career goals.

He continues to lead the program each year by bringing students to D.C. and New York City to expose them to different opportunities and meet with professional leaders. He is a 2017 graduate of Cardozo School of Law and a member of the Alabama Bar.
