Solutions for the Community
I will work everyday towards creating a more equitable, inclusive, prosperous and safe community for all. While I cannot fix every issue in the community, I can collaborate with you and commit to giving you my all. I will find common ground where it exists and fight for what is right.
As a member of the Alabama State Legislature, I have three primary roles:
1) Propose and vote on bills that can become laws that affect the entire state. These bills create policies for education, criminal justice, public safety, health care, mental health services, economic development and more. In some circumstances, the legislature votes on “local bills” that only impact some cities/counties.
2) Provide constituent services to try and help guide residents towards resources or solutions.
3) Collaborate on and facilitate initiatives with non-profit organizations, clergy, businesses, and more to address issues in the district and support the community.
Education
As a former educator in Montgomery Public Schools, I know firsthand the challenges our schools face. Our students and educators deserve a state representative who will fight for equitable resources, seek innovative solutions, and support our public schools.
Community Safety and Criminal Justice Reform
As a mentor to and former Montgomery Public Schools educator to many of our community’s youth, I know too many children whose lives have been tragically lost to gun violence. Our community is heartbroken and traumatized. I will work with officials in all levels of government and the community to fight to protect our children. Additionally, as an attorney and policy expert, I have worked to make the law fairer and more equitable for all residents. As your state representative, I will bring this depth of knowledge and experience to help write and enact laws that will make our communities better and safer for all.
Community Health
Every resident in our state deserves access to quality, affordable health care. I will be a fierce advocate for mental health resources and equitable health services for all. It is essential that we listen to the guidance and expertise of public health and medical professionals to protect ourselves and one another.
Economic Mobility

As a former educator in Montgomery Public Schools, I know firsthand the challenges our schools face. Our students and educators deserve a state representative who will fight for equitable resources, seek innovative solutions, and support our public schools.
Community Health
Now more than ever, the COVID-19 pandemic has shown us the need for access to quality, affordable health care for all. Our community deserves a state representative who will advocate for mental health resources and equitable health services.
Criminal Justice Reform and Public Safety
As an attorney and policy expert, I have worked to seek justice for our state’s most vulnerable while writing and advocating for changes that make the law fairer and more equal for all residents. As your state representative, I will bring this depth of knowledge and experience to write laws that will make our communities better and safer for all.
Economic Mobility
I have seen firsthand through my work as an educator, attorney, and policy expert the economic challenges many families and small businesses face. As your state representative, I will work to introduce and support policies to level the playing field and expand access to financial opportunities that truly empower people—especially those traditionally left behind—to grow economically.
